The steps

  1. Feedstock at an aggregation point

    Residue already arrives at a mill, a ginnery, a seed plant or a sugar mill. That is where the kiln, dryer or digester goes, and the villages around it are the first farms.

  2. Enrol the farm, plot by plot

    Each farmer enrols with their plot. Natural-farming cohorts first. Nothing is asked that risks the harvest unless the loss is already covered.

  3. Measure, do not survey

    Sensors, samples and satellite, run every season and cheap enough to keep running. Audited output from the kiln, not its nameplate. Baselines a government would recognise.

  4. One methodology, one registry

    Every credit follows a published international methodology and is recorded on an international registry. One gas source, one methodology, one registry per plot.

  5. Issue and retire

    Credits are issued under recognised international methodologies and retired in the buyer's own registry account. We never hold credits as stock and never book income before a credit exists.

  6. Write the farmer's account

    75% of the retail credit price goes to the farmer, on a per-farmer account anyone with the link can read. Nothing is paid to partners as a fee.

What each credit type looks like from the field.

Biochar · opening

Residue to the kiln, char to the soil.

Straw and stalks that would burn are carbonised at the aggregation point. The biochar returns to the farmer's field, where it stays for a century or more.

Rice methane · opening

Managed water on paddy.

Flooded paddy emits methane; managed water reduces it. Asked only where the yield is protected first.

Agroforestry · opening

Trees on bunds and edges.

The farm keeps the fruit and fodder. The carbon in the trees is measured and credited over years.

Soil carbon · later

Carbon built in the soil itself.

Carbon built in the soil, measured by sampling on the plot. Later, once proven.

Rock weathering · later

Crushed rock on the field.

Silicate rock draws down carbon as it weathers and can improve the soil. Counted only once the measurement is proven on our fields.

Biogas · later

Residue and dung to a digester.

Residue and dung into a digester instead of the open air. A credit for the farm, later.
